David,
Post by David HufferI use incremental search regularly and find more often than not I
leave trailing i's in my document when invoking the search (using
the Ctrl-I key binding). Does anyone else experience this? Is there
a way to avoid it?
I never use Incremental Search but following your report I tried a
few dozen times evoking it with Ctrl+I and it never inserted "i" in
a document. In other words I could not reproduce this and I, too,
wonder if anyone else is experiencing it...
By the way, if you changed any options pertaining to Incremental
Search you should let me know (Modal Dialog and Stay on Top may be
relevant). I only checked this with the default settings...
Post by David Huffer@Alex, accommodating regular expressions would be a useful
enhancement for incremental search if something like that were
possible.
Useful to some users and annoying to those that may not appreciate
a larger interface with extra option(s). Perhaps other users should
comment on desirability of such feature as well.
For now RegEx (and extra options) are only available in ordinary
search. Incremental search is used by many because it reminds them
of a simple Windows-style search in stay-on-top dialog. Maybe it is
not such a good idea to load it with advanced functionality such as
RegEx...
Best regards,
alex
